No matter what level of sport you play, carrying an injury or niggle stops you from enjoying it to the full, either not allowing you to take part or not allowing you to perform at your best.
Causes of sports injuries
Sports injuries usually happen when playing sport or during exercise. However, they can occur as a result of poor training techniques, lack of sport-specific preparation, incorrect muscle patterns or predisposing anatomical factors.
Our approach to sports physiotherapy
We can treat sports injuries that have affected your muscles, bones, joints and other soft tissues such as ligaments and tendons. If it’s a new sports injury, it’s best to get it looked at sooner rather than later, and if it’s a long-standing injury, the most important thing is to get to the root cause of the problem.
Our specialised physiotherapists will aim to reduce pain first and foremost. They will then help to improve your range of movement, help you regain your strength and then work with you to get you back to your sport as quickly as possible. They’ll give advice on ongoing exercises may teach you some strapping techniques to help prevent further injury.
